Forrest Goodrich Obituary

Boise, Idaho - Forrest Terry Goodrich passed away on January 18, 2022, he was 82 years old. Terry was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Forrest Everett Goodrich and Helen Lenora Goodrich (Flanagan) and was an only child. Terry's early childhood was spent living with his parents in many different states as his father was deemed an essential worker during World War II. In 1946 they moved to McCall, ID, a place that held some of his fondest memories. In 1951 they moved for the final time to Boise, ID. Terry attended North Junior High and Boise High School, graduating from BHS in 1957. He attended Cedarville College in Cedarville, OH, graduating in 1961. At Cedarville he met and fell in love with Marcia Gail Crothers. They married on August 19, 1961 and were together for 60 years.
He was a history teacher for 11 years in the Boise School District, teaching at Boise High, South Junior High, and West Junior High. During his tenure at West he coached the 9th Jr. Varsity Basketball Team to a city championship. He changed careers in 1972, working for Boise Water Corp. for 29 years, retiring in June of 2001.
Terry loved traveling and the outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping, especially loved cutting firewood, and traveling with Marcia to California to visit their son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. He was a lifelong supporter of BSU Football and Basketball, and for decades was a season ticket holder of both until age and health prevented his attendance.
He had a strong love of God since his childhood and read the bible daily. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents and youngest son Curt, and many of his lifelong friends. He is survived by his wife Marcia, daughter Jody Lynn Goodrich, son Forrest Christopher Goodrich, daughter-in-law Josefina Goodrich (Arias), and grandson Christopher Damian Goodrich.
A celebration of life will be held at Whitney Baptist Church, 2309 W. Dorian St., Boise, ID, on Thursday February 10, 2022 at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Boise Rescue Mission or your favorite charity in his name.

What a wonderful and inspiring man, Terry was!! He was like a brother in our family. So many fond memories, and childhood experiences. Terry, you are truly missed and loved, forever. It doesn't feel like it has been a year since we lost you. Rest peacefully in God's arms. Like a sister, love you always.
