H.L. Satterwhite Obituary
1932 ~ 2014
H.L. "Jerry" Satterwhite, 82, of Boise, Idaho passed away on April 20, 2014, from COPD.
He was born on February 24, 1932 in Twin Falls, Idaho to the late Rev. Hoyet and Pearl Satterwhite. Jerry attended Filer High School where he played basketball and baseball. After helping with the family farm, he went on to work construction jobs for J.R. Simplot and Ore-Ida.
In 1964, he married Kay Knapp Kessler. Together they had one daughter. Jerry has a daughter and 6 sons from a previous marriage, and Kay had 4 sons, for a total of 12. They celebrated their 50th anniversary on March 21st.
Jerry owned and operated Timber Steel Buildings for 35 years. He taught the trade to his sons and together they built many buildings such as horse barns, riding arenas, and mini-storages. He manually designed and drafted each building with meticulous care.
Jerry loved bowling and playing cards and met many lifelong friends through these activities. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. Most of all, he loved his family. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him and he loved it when they came to visit. He was affectionately known as "Grandpa Dude". He was loving and generous and had a playful sense of humor.
Jerry leaves behind his loving wife Kay; daughters, Judy Torrez and Kim (Marty) Reid; sons Jerry (Connie), Jim (Angie), Anthony, Mark (Tammy), and Brian (Anita) Satterwhite, Kevin (Cathy) Jones, Jack, Steve, and Rick (Essia) Kessler. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren; his brother Boyd, and many other beloved relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ruby Aylett; his brother, Charles; and his son Gary Lee Kessler.
Thank you to the nurses and staff at Legacy Hospice for your wonderful care. Funeral Arrangements are being made by Bowman Funeral Parlor. A memorial service will be held at Noon on Saturday, April 26th, at River City Church, 7540 W. Northview St., Boise, ID 83704. Condolences may be made at www.bowmanfuneral.com .

Yep, Jerry built me the nicest shop I ever had. Meet up with him a couple years ago again on facebook. I always enjoyed my conversations and emails back and forth with him. My sincerest condolences to his family.
