Helen Rogers Memorial service for Helen Rogers 92 of Emmett, who died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007 in Emmett, will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday Oct. 6 at the Emmett Christian Church. Services under the direction of Potter Funeral Chapel Emmett. Helen was born on Aug. 21, 1915 at Palco, Kan. to William and Elda Baldwin. She was reared and educated in Kansas. She married Irwin "Dutch" Rogers on Nov. 8, 1931. They farmed in Kansas until 1945 when they moved to Emmett. Helen enjoyed knitting and made many items for each of her family members. She did numerous crafts, and for many years made clothing for her children. Helen was a member of the Emmett Nazarene Church and the Emmett Christian Church, where she was active as an organist, teacher and Sunday school secretary. In 1977 they sold the farm and moved into town. In 1994 Helen and Dutch were the second residents to move into Apple Valley Retirement Home. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 63 years, her parents and a great-great-grandchild. Helen is survived by her children Patricia A. McConnel of Emmett, William T. Rogers of Addy, Wash., Quinton (Deana) R. Rogers of Arvada, Colo. and John (Sharon) Rogers of Emmett, Idaho; a sister Mildred Robertson of St. Joseph, Mo. There are 15 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Emmett Christian Church 103 W. 3rd St. or to CERT 619 W. 12th St. Emmett.
