1960 ~ 2018
Jan Marie Dress passed away peacefully on October 22, 2018. Jan was born January 19, 1960 in Boise Idaho to the parents of Don and Helen Dress. She spent her younger years in a home with acreage with lots of pets and farm animals, playing in the fields, building forts with her brother and neighborhood friends. One her favorite outdoor activities was camping on her parents property in Cascade, Idaho. She got a good laugh at how her dad leveled the trailer with a downhill slant and placing the camp soap bar in a hanging nylon stocking to keep it clean. Jan would sit around the fire and tell stories about her recents trips travelling around the country to see Greatful Dead concerts, spending Christmas in Mexico and attending her favorite Art Festivals, reminding each of us that we would need to put them on our bucket list.
Jan was a Free Spirit, living life precuriously through the lens and struggles of mental illness through out her adult years. Always keeping her favorite pet nearby through out her walks in life and living for her most favorite holiday of the year, Christmas. Her other love was for music! Turning it up and dancing away in the living room or while camping. In her later years Jan enjoyed visiting and spending time with her favorite friend, John, and his family.
Jan is survived by her brother Mike, her nieces Nicole Underwood, Junell Myers and Nephew Scott Dress and many great grand nieces and nephews.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the many people who assited Jan over the past year, including her caregivers; the nurses, doctors, and staff of St. Lukes, who assited Jan over the past month. Jan will always be remember for her kind heart and the special gifts she provided for her friends and family; gifts that she relished picking out, that always had to be delivered in the proper setting and time.

I have so many happy memories of our childhood together. The dancing, the skating in the garage to the song "Wendy". I remember playing pool, swimming in the pool. So many happy times. I always enjoyed seeing Jan, she was always upbeat.
