Ocean Park, Washington - Jesse M. Strope, Jr., 91, of Ocean Park, Washington, passed away on May 2, 2021. Jesse was born on June 22, 1929 to Jesse M. Strope, Sr., and Thelma H Strope in a log house, on the family farm near Howe, Idaho.
Jesse grew up in the Little Lost River area and lived for a few years in Noxon Montana. After graduating from high school, Jesse married Virginia Blessinger. Jesse served in the Army, as a radio technician in Kentucky and Alaska. He lived in Pocatello and Boise for many years and had four children. In Boise Jesse was the owner and operator of Capital Concrete Company and several construction subsidiaries. In 1983 Jesse married Mary Jo Carter, and moved with her to Missoula, Montana, and later to Ocean Park, Washington. He worked and enjoyed driving a school bus on the Long Beach Peninsula where many people knew him as their school bus driver.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Jo Strope, his siblings Kendall (Buster) Strope, Virginia Lee Spafford, and Wanda Olson, and his daughter, Peggy Strope. He is survived by his children Calvin Strope and his wife Jacki, Patty McArthur and her husband Rex, and Dara Handel and her husband Lex, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Dry Creek Veteran's Cemetery in Boise on Monday, May 17, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.
