Jim Hardy Obituary

Jim Hardy
1958-2013
Jim Hardy passed away peacefully on May 27th, 2013 in Portland, Oregon with his sons by his side. Jim was the 4th of 6 children born to Patricia and James Hardy on February 4th, 1958 in San Jose, CA. Imaginative and playful, Jim was known as the family comedian who found humor in life's daily events.
Jim was a graduate of Creighton University in 1981 with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and Mathematics. Immediately upon graduation, he began his career with Texas Instruments in Houston, Texas. From there his aptitude allowed him an opportunity with Micron Technology during the company's early years. Through this company, he moved to Boise which became his permanent home.
Jim found solace through exercise and in tending his beautiful yard. He was fascinated with technology and entertainment. He had a big heart and took loving care of his dogs Maggie, Ollie, and late dog Joey. He was also an amateur photographer who travelled most the globe on both business and pleasure. In 2011 while on a business trip, Jim received recognition for administering CPR to a woman in need. Because of this she is alive and well.
He was intelligent, witty, and had a larger-than-life personality always looking to entertain those around him. He is survived by his two sons Hal and Michael, parents Jim and Patricia, sisters Joan Jann and Mary Haas, and brother Tom. He is preceded in death by his sister Maureen and brother Tim. He will be remembered for the laughter he could bring into any situation and the adventures he had with his sons. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon and all those who have showed support in his final days. A memorial service will be held on May 30th, 2013 at St. John's Cathedral with Father Brian May officiating. The family asked that in lieu flowers, contributions be made to either/or:
1. The Trevor Project (http://www.thetrevorproject.org), which provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth.
2. Genesis Service Dogs INC (where Jim's dogs will be trained to service those in need)

Jim-I've tried to find you for years. My old CSM buddy-we studied animal anatomy together and had an incredibly fun and crazy time.
I just found out and am in a state of disbelief in that I finally found you, and you are gone. I am so sad. But it sounds like you had a wonderful life, and it makes me happy to know you lived it fully, have two beautiful boys that I'm sure will carry your sweet, funny and wonderful love into the future. I still miss you.

Dear Jim-I'm so glad I was fortunate to reconnect through Facebook with you. I loved our conversations about the economy, your dream house you built, the lovely photos you posted of nature and of course your dogs you loved so much. You were also so proud of your sons. We had some fun times growing up in San Bruno. Riding the "fields' on your motorcycle, making a tree swing on Sneath lane on the highway! Rest in peace my childhood friend.

Jim was a good friend. I miss his enthusiasm, energy and presence. He raised two wonderful sons and I know how proud he is of them and how much he loves them. It is much too quiet now without him. I will miss him every day. Rest in peace my dear, sweet friend.

Remembering all of the good times and the laughter.

Jim was always fun to talk to about anything. I often gave him free legal advice at the gym about various legal matters. I called it the on the go legal advice. I am going to miss seeing Jim at the gym at least 3 times a week. I can't believe he won't be around anymore with those gold plated headphones which I teased him about. I will never forget the dinner we had at his house when all of us type A hyper personalities were talking at the same time and one of the guests was looking at us like what the ___ was going on. She couldn't get a word in the conversation. Rest peacefully Jim.
