Joelle Busey Obituary
August 12, 1938 - January 9, 2024
Eagle, Idaho - Joelle Busey (Walp), 85 passed away peacefully in Eagle, ID on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024. Joelle is preceded in death by her parents, J. Elliott Busey and Josephine Marsh Busey, and granddaughter Elisyn Walp.
Joelle is survived by her 3 children, Elliott James "EJ" Walp (Cindy), Brian J Walp (Shelley), and Dawn Walp, (Ed Jenkins) and 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Joelle was born in Missoula, MT on August 12th 1938. The Busey family later moved to Portland, Ore. She graduated from Grant High School in 1956. Marrying James C. Walp in 1958, moving to Boise, Id in 1966. Divorcing James C. Walp in 1979.
As a member of the Jr. League of Boise for many years, Joelle participated in the successful campaigns including Morrison Center of Boise, Boise Historical Museum and many Christmas sales at the Boise Depot.
Joelle graduated from Boise State University in May of 1985, with a degree in Cultural Anthropology and a Teaching Certificate. The time she spent student teaching at Boise High School was very enjoyable for her. She loved her students and they in-turn enjoyed her passion for teaching.
Joelle loved her summers on Flathead Lake on the East Shore of Finley Point at the family cabin. Sharing her love for Montana with her children. She loved to travel and explore the world spending 3 years in Japan where she taught English as a second language to Japanese Executives. Her time is Japan was a highlight in her life.
The family suggests any Memorials be made to a charity of your choice, or the Idaho State Museum, or Morrison Center in Joelle's name.
There will be a family gathering for her in Boise this summer, per her wishes her final resting place will be in Montana.
