Johnny Everett

1934 - 2025

Johnny Everett passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in the backwoods of Harlan County, Kentucky, Johnny grew up a barefoot hillbilly. At 17, he joined the U.S. Navy and later served in the U.S. Air Force, traveling the world with his family, until retiring in 1973.

Only a week after meeting, he secretly proposed to his sweetheart, Betty Buffaloe. They married on June 16, 1955, in Pocatello, Idaho, and were sealed in the Boise Idaho Temple in 2007. Their 70-year marriage was one of his greatest accomplishments.

After settling in Boise, Johnny founded Everett Heating & Air Conditioning in 1991, proudly serving the Treasure Valley for over 20 years.

An avid and distinguished golfer, Johnny played several times a week with close friends, right up until days before his passing. He loved barbecuing, road trips, fishing, games, and serving in his church. His life embodied the American dream, and he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; children Cindy Everett, Cheri Hubler, and Matt Everett; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Mona Jo Napier; and his loyal dog, Bodie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Stella Everett; stepfather Emmitt Napier; siblings Gertrude Nolan, Mary Ruth Fields, Danny Everett, Joyce Blanton, Jerry Everett, and Emmitt Napier Jr.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11918 W. Ustick Rd, Boise, with a viewing from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. A committal service with military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery pavilion, 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Rd.
