Kenneth Perry Obituary

Kenneth R. Perry
1947-2018
Kenneth R. Perry physically left us on September 3rd, 2018. He was born to Bud and June Perry in Lewiston, Idaho, where he planted strong roots. Ken was the oldest of four boys. He graduated high school from St. Gertrude's Academy in May 1966 and went on to Boise State University where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. In 1977, Ken graduated from Tulane University with his Master's Degree in Social Work. After his academic venture, Ken returned to Idaho to begin his career, but also his greatest journey as a father of twins. Ken worked up until his death and spent his entire career serving others, in addition to working to improve the lives of foster children. He was a distinguished psychotherapist in the Boise area, and Ken had a profound effect on many people who had the pleasure of working with him.
Ken was a lover of life and fun. When Ken wasn't working he could be found at Les Bois Horse Races enjoying a beer with friends. Horse racing was an avid part of his life; he purchased his first race horse, Mister Manners, in 1985. Ken also enjoyed spending time with his family, archery, slot machines, playing golf with his Lewiston buddies and traveling with his favorite travel partner; his wife Joey. He would never turn down a trip to Las Vegas or a Clamato beer. He was a spiritual man and collector of Buddhas statues. He enjoyed sharing this collection and gifting them to friends and family.
Ken is survived by his wife, Joey; his twin daughters, Jamie and Jessica; his step children, Katie, Jamie and Nick; his four grandchildren, Althea, Braxton, Cecilia, and Camas; and brothers, Rick and Pat. His family and all who knew him will miss him tremendously. His memories will live on in our hearts forever.
Please join us for a celebration of his life on September 29th, 2018 from 1 PM-3:30 PM at Plantation Country Club in Boise. Based on Ken's love for dressing casually (shorts and sweats), this will be a casual event.
In lieu of flowers please make donations on his behalf to The Boys and Girls Club of Garden City or Lewiston.

Larry Mayer here. I believe Ken went to Mt. Angel seminary for a year, where I was his big brother, being older and from the same town. He likely left after a year. We both graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes. His name had been long lost in my memory when tonight it just popped into my head and I had to check it out. So Sorry he has passed. He was a good man who did much good while having fun. He enjoyed life. Larry Mayer, Burney CA 01~25

Joey and Girls, may the anniversary of losing your loved one be a time of celebrating the life of a very special person. May you find comfort in his memories and in each other. May God surround you with His peace. May you find more comfort knowing the heavens welcomed Ken into the Kingdom of God, where he continues to watch over you. Until the day we see him again, I pray for your memories to be filled with joy.

I cannot count the number of times I sat in Ken's office, asking advice-or giving advice, believe it or not! He taught me so much. My life was blessed numerous times
by his friendship.

A mysterious, kind young man in high school, Ken was admired by everyone. I will never forget the last time I saw him . . . our 50th class reunion where he spoke of the importance of our time together. I will miss you, Ken.

Ken was one of the most honest and honorable men I've known. He helped the most lost and trouble kids and had a way of earning their trust when they didn't trust anyone. He will be truly missed. I'm want to express my most sincere condolences to his family.
