Dear Lisa, the three of you as a family were tighter together than I´ve seen. Every time I would see Ken outside, first it was the epic tongue out and wave greeting to say - today is another good day!- and then each conversation was first what adventure he is about to go on... but then he had so much joy talking about you and Louise. Whether your west seattle new location, or Louise and school or Girl Scout leadership... you were his most beautiful gifts. I am so heartbroken for your little family being pained with this losing your world too. I know he will be with you in every decision, every glimmer of wonder, and every moment you have... you will feel him. Holding your family in our hearts. This photo was at the 46th picnics- it´s just a random photo but I love how he´s w Louise as always and looking over at her... kinda looks like a band album photo. But more so reminds me of the simple moments he had together with you and Louise.

We called Ken our "buddha" because every day for him seemed to be filled with contentment and wonder. We are grateful every day for the joyful trips, cookouts, visits and time being delighted with our daughters, who brought us all together. His devotion to Lisa and Louise was always in the forefront. We will miss him terribly but will learn to smile at the many things that remind us of the wonderful human that he was. Lisa and Louise, love to you always.

I remember traveling through Europe with Ken when he was very young. We spent a lot of our journey helping him learn to tell time on his watch. He was very seriously one of the nicest people I have ever known.

Lisa, hi.... I'm Patti, your aunt Celine's friend. I met you yrs & yrs ago at your grandparents in CdA...you were an adorable, little dark haired girl - playing outside & singing "Moon Shadow", an image & memory I've always remembered! I know of your jewelry business, it's beautiful.
I just wanted to offer my sincere condolences to you & Louise, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Lord bless you & yours during this difficult time
Sincerely, Patti Singer

Ken was the best and a role model. I am a better person for knowing him. I should mention his prowess with the yo-yo and he was a Lego Master!

During a visit to Boise to share Christmas with Ken's paternal grandparents, most of the extended family went to Bogus Basin for a day of downhill skiing. Ken had basically stopped skiing, because he was so incredibly good, it had lost its appeal and challenge. However, using the old/new downhill and xcounty skis and parts in the garage, he cobbled together a pair of hybrid skiis and bindings and said would try xcountry at Bogus, something he had never done.
Xcountry skiing on a downhill mountain was unheard of in the 1990s, but he did it, extremely well. In fact he started trying telemark skiing, which is a skiing technique that combines elements of Alpine and Nordic skiing, using the rear foot to keep balance while pushing on the front. He mastered the technique in a very short time, and for a challenge, he telemarked the moguls.
Ken was an incredible skier and was engineer minded, for sure.
