Lorraine was a loving and caring wife. She was a good seamstress, making her own wedding dress and many other things. Together they owned Hardwoods Plus Company.

She was a courageous Patriot and model citizen, becoming a Republican PCP to support Ron Paul's 2012 bid for the Republican big for U.S. President, and later in 2014, was one of six candidates for the Republican Oregon Governor. Lorraine finished fourth, being a strong Right to Life, 2nd Amendment and Property Rights advocate .
In 2007, when Jim had a forklift accident, Lorraine took over the daily running of Hardwoods Plus and also took care of Jim's injuries for one and half years. During that period, they did not have a social life, they had each other.
When the Apple Rogue Times newspaper started in 2012, Lorraine became active as a director and newspaper reporter.
Lorraine enjoyed woodworking, surveying, sewing, organic gardening, music and hiking.
She is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Rafferty of Selma; older brothers, Dennis and Rodger Healy; older sister, Karen Loader; numerous nieces and nephews living in Idaho; her cousin, Linda of Eagle Point, Oregon; and many more.
