Luann Marie Maupin

Luann Marie (Budell) Maupin 1936 - 2012 Luann Marie (Budell) Maupin died 2 October 2012 in her home with her family and friends by her side. Luann was born in Nampa, ID on 14 March 1936. She was the oldest child born to Victor Harold Budell and (Belle) Clarisse (Rivett) Budell. Luann attended St. Paul's elementary school and was a Nampa High School graduate, class of 1954. At a young age she displayed a talent for art and loved to paint. After high school she attended the College of Idaho for two years where she concentrated on art studies. Luann met her husband, Larry Maupin, in Nampa and married in August 1956. They started their family in Nampa and were blessed with 8 boys and 2 girls. Luann was a talented homemaker and raised her children with strong values and faith. The family settled in Boise, in 1968, after living in Nampa, Marsing, Meridian and Idaho Falls. Luann always relied upon her strong faith and many talents to meet her family's needs. Her faith and talents were called upon in 1980 when the couple divorced. After the divorce Luann enrolled in Boise State University, successfully obtaining a nursing degree while working at the Good Samaritan Home. Following graduation, Luann worked at the Elks Rehabilitation Hospital in Boise. She moved to St. Alphonsus Hospital when the new rehabilitation unit opened, and continued taking care of patients until she retired in 2008. Luann was a fun loving, compassionate, strong and enduring soul. Her love for others has impacted many and will be remembered always. Luann was very involved in her church and the lives of her children and grandchildren. She loved to sew, cook, garden, ski and help others wherever she could. She always had a giving heart and a gift to pass on. Our last days with Luann have provided us many fond and loving memories. Luann was our rock in the surf of life, staying strong during life's storms. Luann is survived by her 5 siblings, Denny Budell of Nampa, Barbara (Steve) Spense of Portland, OR, Vicki (Bob) Hauge of Nampa, Jeanne Johnston of Portland, OR, and Rich Budell of Tallahassee, FL. Luann has 10 children, 12 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Luann is survived by Fred (Sherry) Maupin of McCall, their boys Jacob and Benjamin, and great grandson Zakary; Mike Maupin of Meridian, his daughter Jessica; Andrew (Robin) Maupin of Parma, grandson Matthew, granddaughter Heather, step-granddaughters Brandy (Ryan) Gregory and great granddaughter McKinzie, and Ashley and Hannah Dauge; Molly (Jeff) Woody of Boise, their daughter Amy and son Justin Tyler; Laura (Chris) Johnson of Boise, their daughter Brandi and son Nickolas; Will (Cari) Maupin of Emmett, and their daughters Jordan and Sophia; Jim Maupin of Boise; John Maupin of Meridian; Peter (Jodi) Maupin of Boise; and Mark (Taresa) Maupin of Arvada, CO, and their son William Victor. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Holy Apostle Catholic Church, 6300 North Meridian Road Meridian, ID 83646. A rosary prayer service will take place from 6:00-8:00pm Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Holy Apostle Catholic Church, 6300 North Meridian Road Meridian, ID 83646.
