Mary Moore Obituary

Mary "Louise" Moore
October 31, 1925 - December 29, 2020
Boise, Idaho - Mary "Louise" Moore was born on Halloween "before candy was part of the deal", she'd remind us from time to time. Louise was born in Lewiston, Idaho to M.C. "Mike" and Margaret (Anderson) Halliday. She was raised on a farm between Juliaetta and Kendrick, Idaho in the roaring '20's. Louise graduated from high school in Juliaetta at 16 years old with the nickname Weezie, a moniker that stuck with her and annoyed her as she aged. After graduation, Louise moved to Spokane to work as a bookkeeper, volunteer at the USO during WWII, and to live on her own with a girlfriend she kept in touch with for life. At age 22, Louise took a civilian job with the Army in Kodiak, AK in 1947. She met Army PVT Jack Moore while living in Kodiak and they were married in 1948. They were married 62 years when Jack passed in 2010. Many thanks to Morningstar AL, special thanks goes out to Doctor's Hospice for taking such good care of Mom in the end.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marlboro Churchill "Mike" and Margaret Halliday; siblings Elinor Jean Halliday, who passed as a child, Helen Wert (Reg), Gordon (Viola), John (Ruby), Janet and husbands Von Prideaux and later Norman Rogers preceded her in death. She is survived by son Keith Moore, (Sandra) of Lampe, MO; daughter Kathryn (Sid) Mooney, Boise; daughter Margaret Moore (Sue), Gresham, OR. Grandsons, Nickolaus (Kenna) and Kelly Mooney and granddaughter Elizabeth Moore; as well as 3 great grandchildren. Louise was most known for her remarkable intelligence, sharp wit and sense of humor even through to the end. She was our 4-H leader, boy scout den mother and brownie leader. She sewed many choir dresses, mended band uniforms, never missed a lacrosse, soccer, Little League or American Legion baseball game for two generations. Louise was the ticket lady at countless Capital High School basketball games and events, and the taxi driver to... well...everything. We will miss your stories, your cooking, your great sense of humor and so much more. Here's to a life well lived!
