Michael Garets Obituary
September 3, 1941 - November 2, 2025
Boise, Idaho - Our beloved brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Mike, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Mike spent his formative years in the greater Boise area, where his lifelong love of nature first began to take root. Earning a bachelor's degree in biology from Boise State University, a reflection of his deep curiosity about the natural world and his appreciation for all living things.
After a lengthy and successful career in the food service industry across Washington, California, and Idaho, Mike retired as a restaurateur returning to Boise and devoted himself to falconry. As a dedicated member of the Peregrine Fund, Mike found joy and purpose in helping preserve and protect birds of prey. Through patience and respect, he honed his skills to become a Master Falconer.
One of Mike's greatest joys came from his family, who meant the world to him. He leaves 3 remaining siblings, 3 sons, 8 grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
There will be a celebration of like for Mike at BBQ4Life in Boise Feb. 8th.
