Nicholas Theisen Obituary

Nicholas J. Theisen passed away on September 18, 2025, in Boise, Idaho, after a brief illness. He was 86.

Nick was born in 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa. After high school, he joined the United States Navy, where he served with pride. Following his time in the service, he returned home to Sioux City and began work as a truck driver.

In 1964, Nick married Theresa (Terry) Gilman, and the two built a life together rooted in hard work and family. They welcomed two sons: Paul in 1965, and Steve in 1967. Nick was a steady, dependable presence.

Nick and Terry moved to Boise, Idaho, in 1998, where they spent their retirement.

Nick is survived by his wife of 61 years, Terry; his sons, Paul and Steve; and extended family and friends.

A private memorial will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a veterans' organization of your choice.

Uncle Nick had such a voice! I hear it every time I think of him. I never saw him without a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed!

Uncle Nick was a kind person who loved western attire. I always liked that about him--the pride he took in dressing well. He could make birdhouses out of PVC pipes and always made me feel loved. You will be missed, Uncle Nick.
