Patsy Coleman Obituary

Patsy Lou Groesbeck Poulsen Coleman, 84, of Boise, passed away at home June 16, 2010, surrounded by family. She was the fourth of five children born March 20, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Walter Scott and Elizabeth Plautz Groesbeck. With her death, this generation ends. In 1946 she married Ernest B. Poulsen. They had two daughters, Pamela and Joan. The family lived for 18 years in Kemmerer, Wyoming before moving to Boise in 1968. Pat later married Lynn B. Coleman and resided in Salt Lake City until his death in 1993. Returning to Boise to be near her daughters, Pat enjoyed golfing, sewing, knitting, gardening, and most recently her weekly lunches with her friends from New Beginnings, whom she enjoyed so much. Most of all she loved being with her family. We will miss her dearly. Pat is remembered for her loving kindness, generous spirit, wit and laughter. "Everyone should have a happy heart" were her recent words to her family. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husbands and her son-in-law, Gary Klinepeter. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Gary) Williams of Eagle, Idaho, and Joan Compton Klinepeter of Meridian, Idaho; three grandchildren, Erin Caskey (T.J.) Deline of Manhattan Beach, California, Shane Compton of Meridian, Idaho and Jennifer (Todd) Poirier of Meridian, Idaho; three (almost four) great grandchildren, Ashley Compton, Zoe Deline (with baby sister on the way), and Brianna Poirier. The family expresses gratitude to the wonderful St. Luke's Hospice nurses and aides, to her night care giver, Sharon, the Oncology Department at St. Luke's MSTI, and especially to her nephew Scott Miller and his wife, Ruth Chaffee-Miller for loving Mom so much and coming to help us take care of her until the end. Thank you Jeff Rompala for matching wits with mom and keeping her laughing. Everyone's kind and expert attention is deeply felt and appreciated. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Private family services will be held at a later date. To share memories with the family please visit Pat's memorial webpage online at www.CloverdaleFuneralHome.com.
