William Ditlove Obituary

William "Bill" Ditlove
September 8, 1938 - March 19, 2018
It is with great sadness and also peace that the family of William "Bill" Ditlove announces his unexpected passing on March 19, 2018 at St. Luke's hospital in Boise, Idaho at the age of 79.
Bill is lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Ronnie, his children, Stacy (Corey), Eric, and Melissa, brother Jack, sisters Dale and Nancie, granddaughters Abriel and Taryn. Bill will be especially missed by his favorite little buddies - grandsons Bennett, Grayson, and Campbell. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Rosa Ditlove.
Bill was born September 8, 1938 and raised in Los Angeles. He proudly served in the United States Navy, stationed in Germany, Scotland and Iceland until his Honorable Discharge in 1960. After his service he attended college and began working with family in the food industry. Bill met Ronnie, the love of his life, in 1971, and they were married October 15, 1978. They raised their family in Los Angeles before moving to Boise in 1994. He and Ronnie owned Fast Freight Plus in southeast Boise until his retirement in 2011. Sitting still was never an option. In 2012 he became a volunteer at Zoo Boise, working with his animals until his passing. His recent years were spent doing what he loved with those who loved him. He traveled the world with Ronnie and the rest of his family. In between whale watching in Maui, wine tasting in Walla Walla, safari in Africa, deep-sea fishing in St. Maarten and kangaroo spotting in the Australian outback, he still found time to root for his Los Angeles Kings and Dodgers, and to perfect his ribs on the smoker. Bill touched so many people in his life with his personality and wit, whether they realized his humor or not.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, our family asks that you make a donation in his name to your favorite charity.

I will miss Bill for all of his wit and humor. I got to know Bill in 2015 when I was involved with Wallabies, then I moved into the kitchen preparing animal diets. I am so sorry to hear he passed away, but I know when he arrived in Heaven trumpets were loud and possibly bag pipes too. Rest In Peace old friend!

Dear Ronnie It is with great sadness, that I am writing this condolence. I really enjoyed Bill, and working with him. The thing I really liked about Bill was he always told it like he saw it. What a great guy, although I have not seen him since I retired, I will always have great respect for him. Randy Schroeder UPS
