Charles Costanzo Obituary

COSTANZO CHARLES PETER, SR. Charles Peter Costanzo, Sr, 67, of Madison, beloved husband of Anita Ruocco Costanzo, died Wednesday November 9, 2011 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a long illness. Born in New Haven on December 17, 1943, he is the son of Jennie DiPino Costanzo of North Haven and the late Anthony Costanzo. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children and grandchildren, Jennifer (Costanzo) Olsen, her husband David and their son Erik and Charles Costanzo, Jr., his wife Jennifer Rose and their daughter Marie, his brothers, Anthony and Robert Costanzo, his sister, Mary Ann (Costanzo) Valentino and her husband Anthony and a large, loving family. Charles was a charter member of the Garden Street Athletic Club, a source of many of his dearest friends. A graduate of the University of Connecticut for both his undergraduate and law degrees, he will be remembered as well by his brothers of the Delta Chi fraternity. For over 25 years, he was an attorney with offices in Guilford and New Haven. He was a profoundly hardworking and giving man with strong ties to the New Haven area that manifested in his participation in state politics, education, youth sports and local business associations. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his loyalty to his friends, his keen sense of humor, his intellectual curiosity and the remarkable impact on the lives of those who loved him. Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 3-7pm at the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 11 Wooster Pl. and are invited to attend funeral services Monday at 1pm in Trinity Episcopal Church, on the Green in New Haven.
