Commander, Otis Dean Essex Jr.
Age 91, of North Canton, went home to be with the Lord on February 25, 2018. He was born November 7, 1926 in Canton, son to the late Otis D. Essex Sr. and Nettie F. (Lee) Essex. Otis proudly served in the US Navy during WWII and served as a Navy Chaplain. He was a member of Dueber United Methodist Church and was a Methodist minister for many years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded by his brother, George Essex; and infant sister, Clara. Survivors include his loving wife or nearly 72 years, Dessie V. (Guedel) Essex; daughters, Cherie (Rick) Draa, Debbie Essex, Deana (Bill) Carter all of North Canton; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 12 noon in Dueber United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Chester Harris and Rev. Bill Carter co-officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
