Richard L. Kamph 1942-2017
Of Dalton,age 75, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2017 surrounded by his family. Born on February 28, 1942 in Massillon, Ohio to the late George and Betty (Pauli) Kamph, Richard was a 1961 graduate of Washington High School in Massillon and was a life resident of the Dalton / Massillon area. He retired from Smith Dairy after 12 years of service and was previously with Dairy Farm Products for 32 years. He also worked seasonally for Lehman's in the warehouse. His family was everything to him and he loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. As a hobby, he loved woodworking which led him to building wooden trucks. A farmer at heart, Richard liked to be outside camping, riding his bike, four wheeler, or Farm All.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruthie (Slabach); children, Ryan (Erika) Kamph of Jackson, Rhonda (Kevin) Patterson of Orrville, Rod (Ann) Kamph of Wooster; grandchildren, Ren (Tara), Chelsea, Courtney, Brandon, and Lucas Kamph, Ricky, Maria, and Michael Hull, Ashley and Amber Patterson; great-grandson, Rory; brother, Lester (Rose) Kamph of North Lawrence, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral service will be Friday, June 2, 2017 at 12 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St., Dalton, OH, 44618, with Pastor Dale Boston officiating. Burial will be held at Dalton Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
