Ryan Trewin Obituary
10 of Canal Fulton walked through the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, after
a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ryan was a 3rd grade student at Stinson Elementary, where he was not only accepted but loved by his peers. Ryan loved life. His smile and laugh were contagious and his dimples were irresistible. Ryan's presence would light up a room and his unbreakable determination and spirit, have inspired countless numbers of people. He taught all those lucky enough to know him to look beyond the wheelchair and see the beauty within. He filled our lives with joy and laughter. The world is a better place because of Ryan and he remains a hero to many.
Ryan is survived by his devoted parents, Jenni Barber and Jose Trewin; his loving brother, Andrew; his beloved dogs, Milo and Hank; grandparents, Cheryl Barber, Gary and Tinia Barber, Maria Bermudez; great-grandmother, Sally Anderson; aunt, Sarah Barber; uncle, Mike Barber; many other aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends and classmates.
Mass of the Christian Burial SATURDAY, 11 a.m. at SS Philip & James Catholic Church, 412 High Street, Canal Fulton, with Fr. Pat Ferraro officationg. Friends may call FRIDAY, 1-8 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton). Burial at Canal Fulton Cemetery. I already sent a poem but I just want you to know you had a beautiful little boy and God has him now just like he took my younger brother in Sept. of 2010. It is very hard and I miss him everyday but i always look up to the sky and ask God and my brother to be with me and help me to be strong it helps. I know my brother is with my mom and my dad' but I also know I will see them again one day. So sorry for your loss my prayers are with you and your family.

I am so sorry for your family's loss, Isaiah 11:6-9 speaks of God's promised new world, "and a mere little boy will be leader over them." Perhaps Ryan Christopher will be that little boy.

My son and daughter went to school with ryan last year. When i was waiting for them in the library everyday- i would always see ryan and he was always smiling. I regret never having the chance to meet him is but i know he is a strong little boy. No family or child should have to endure what he has. I'm so sorry to hear of Ryan's passing. I had the privilege of being a substitute teacher in Ryan's classes in kindergarten and 1st grade. Even though I have since moved away from Ohio, I have never forgotten him and his determination and love of life. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;

It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,

And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,

We are the neighbors of one of your friends and we have been praying for Ryan since the onset of his cancer. We just want you to know that at this moment, we can picture Ryan holding hands with Jesus, telling Him stories of all his friends and all the experiences he had during his illness and before...telling Him about loving brother Andrew and how much he loves him...telling Him about his Mom and Dad who were always loving him and comforting him and doing everything humanly possible to make things better for him...and I see Jesus just smile and nod His head and say...I know Ryan...they have a special place here with us when its their time...they have done My work just like you...we see Ryan whispering secrets in Jesus' ear and giggling and laughing...and running and jumping and doing all the things he was unable to do because of the horrible disease that is cancer...just know that we are praying our hearts out for you and will when real life sinks in that you will continue on without Ryan here with you. Ryan your in the arms of Jesus now. You have no need for the wheel chair and now are able to run and play and laugh. We got the chance to sit next to you when your brother Andrew played for the Cardinals a couple of years ago and won the tournament. My son Kenny D played on that team too. We are so sorry for your lose! But please know that we are now praying for you. God's garden had an empty spot and the only person to completely fill that spot was SUPER RYAN. My family only met Ryan once at the Creamery, and from that point Ryan has ALWAYS been in our prayers. My entire family has learned from SUPER RYAN that there is never nothing bad enough to stop smiling and give up. Ryan tought us that no matter how bad things are we still need to SMILE!! Everytime I close my eyes I see his LOVING SMILE, UNBLEVABLE DIMPLES, and all the COURAGE that one person can hold!! SUPER RYAN will ALWAYS have a SPECIAL place in our HEARTS!! My heart is with you.I've never met a little boy like Ryan so polite,always had a nice thing to say to me.He was always finding a way to make things a little better even when he found himself a little grumpy.He was still polite and funny.I grew over the years to love little Ryan , prayed every night for him and your family.He was always so nice and loving to my little Shelbi I know there was a very speacil bond between them two.They are fling together again. Did not know the family but live in the same town and see the signs everyday, so I was praying. So sad to hear Ryan passed away. I guess God could only go 10 years without having him in Heaven; he must have been that great of a person. I pray that all of his family stays strong.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time! May God's Grace give them peace ! Ryan was an Angel on earth now he is in Heaven!! He touched so many hearts we will never forget him!

I didn't know Ryan, but followed his story... what a courageous little boy! He definitely has the makings of a great angel!! My prayers are with your family at this difficult time.

What a pleasure it was getting to know Ryan, through the good times and bad. Our hearts go out to the family losing such a special guy. May he swing on rainbows and play ball in the sky and smile down on all of us.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
May God be with your family. RIP Ryan you will be missed.
