David Roger Nelson
ANDERSON, SC - David Roger Nelson, 71, of Pendleton, SC died Tuesday night, February 7, 2012 at Hospice of the Foothills in Seneca, SC. Born February 8, 1941 in Malden, MA; he was the son of the late Carlton Roger Nelson and Ida Welander nelson.
His is survived by his wife of 20 years , Andi Nelson, his children; Elizabeth Alderson and Leigh Anderson of Columbia, TN, John Nelson of Honolulu, HI, Bre Stifler of Baltimore MD, and his sister Joan Kostelnik, of Lewes, DE as well as six grandchildren; Abby, Christopher, Jacob, Sam, Summer and Peter.
David graduated from Barrington, RI High School and University of Vermont with a degree in economics. He was a commissioned officer in the United States Army and pursued a career in market research, product development and marketing of consumer package goods. He retired early to the Eastern Shore of Maryland and relocated with his wife in Pendleton, SC in 2005.
David's greatest joy has always been his children and grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial for David on Friday, February 10 at 2pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Clemson.
