Inez Porter Obituary

INEZ A. PORTER
ANDERSON - Inez Ayers Porter, 80, of Mt. Vernon Apartments, died Monday, June 2, 2009 at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Born June 11, 1928 in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Ellen Garner Ayers. She was a graduate of Girls High and Carolina School of Commerce (Forrest College). She was a retired switchboard operator at Sears and later a member of the Sears Retirees Club. For 26 years she was a member and officer of the Friday Senior Twister's Bowling League, 5-year member of Senior Mixed Travel League on the "Have Ball Will Travel" team and 15 year member and officer of TOPS SC 189 of Anderson and just recently became a KOPS. She was a member and organist of Orrville Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son James Kenneth Porter (Lettie) of Belton; 4 grandchildren, Jimmy Smith of Belton, Jennifer Phillips (Jeff) of Greenville, Jeffery Porter (Kristen) of Columbia and Paul E. Porter of Belton and 3 great grandsons, Mitchell, Tristan and Ian. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Porter Smith.
Funeral service will be held at 3pm Friday at Orrville Methodist Church. Burial will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:30 until 2:45pm at the church prior to the service. The family is at the residence.
