Julian Jones Obituary
Anderson, SC - Julian Harold Jones, Jr., 72, of Anderson, departed this life on Sunday, December 6, 2020.
Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Julian Harold Jones, Sr. and Vennie Rainey Jones.
He served in the U.S. Army. Julian was retired from the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division as a Lieutenant in the Federal Fugitive Task Force. After retirement, he enjoyed farming and land development. He also served on the Board of the South Carolina Soil and Water Conservation Commission. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Laura Jackson Jones; daughter, Julianna Austin Jones of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Gloria Jones Harris (Joe) of Cedar Mountain, NC and Nita Jones of Starr; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Veterans Mausoleum conducted by Dr. Dennis Tedder.
The family requests that flowers be omitted; memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 302 West Whitner Street, Anderson, SC 29624 or Anderson Pregnancy Care, 1303 North Murray Avenue, Anderson, SC 29625.

I just found out about Julian passing in 2020. I met him when I was a teenager and had gotten in some trouble with the Anderson County Sheriff´s department.
He helped me and had a part of me changing my life. After the Lord called me into the ministry he had me come speak at his church.
I moved out of town for almost 20 years. This the reason I´m just finding out. RIP Sir! Thank you!

This is David Carter with National Land Realty. I met Julian through my land business. We got to know each other well over the past couple years. He always called me “buddy row.” He was the same age as my dad. I always enjoyed talking with him about land, easements, farming etc. We currently are leasing the farm in Tiny McConnell but haven’t hunted it any longer since Sunday.
