Anderson, SC
Larry C. McGowan, 69, husband of Gail McGowan, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016.
Born in Milledgeville, Georgia, he was the son of the late Wilmer C. and Severn Weatherford McGowan. He was a graduate of Georgia Military College and the University of Georgia. Larry was a retired Pharmacist with Revco/CVS in Anderson and Honea Path. He enjoyed working in his yard, was an avid golfer and University of Georgia Bulldog Fan. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gail McGowan; son, Scot A. McGowan and wife, Pamela of Anderson; daughters, Lori M. Spicer and husband, Chris of Grayson, Georgia and Lari M. Hiott and husband, Jerry of Jefferson, Georgia; stepson, Tom Kelley and wife, Angie of Anderson; stepdaughter, Tracy Williams and husband, Eric of Columbia; eight grandsons; one granddaughter; brother, Wilton McGowan and his companion, Sara Settles of Union; caregiver, Briana "Bianca" Holston; and his fur baby, Andee.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2016, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Bob Marcaurelle. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 p.m. Monday prior to the service. The family is at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 East Calhoun Street, Anderson, SC 29621; or give the gift of life and donate blood to your local blood bank.

So sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I worked with him many years ago at Revco while I was in high school and college. Larry was a great guy who always made me feel like I had a dad at work. It was my pleasure to work with him and I know he will be missed!

Larry was a wonderful person to know the many years he was the pharmacist in Honea Path. I will never forget how nice he was to my
Mother who was very sick in helping her with her Medications. He was also nice to my husband daughter and I through the years and he will not be forgotten our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family
