Lenora Russell Curry
JULY 18, 1918 - JUNE 20, 2010
ANDERSON, SC - Lenora " Pug" Russell Curry, age 91, died in Anderson, on June 20, 2010.
Born July 18, 1918, in Sumter, SC, she was a daughter of the late Samuel O. Russell and Blanche Register Russell. She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Furman Curry. In 70 years of marriage, the couple's only separation was during World War II. Bob was in the Army and served in France, Germany, and England. Pug and daughter Anne stayed with the Russell family in Florence, SC during that time.
Primarily a homemaker, Pug also did bookkeeping for her husband's company, Carolina Optical Supply. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church. She was an excellent bridge player and enjoyed the game until her death.
In addition to her husband, Pug is survived by her children, Anne Dement of Raleigh, NC and Robert Curry Jr. of Norfolk, VA; grandchildren, David Murray of San Francisco, CA and Shawn Murray of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Ethel Wright of Greenville, SC and Margy Holliday of Galivants Ferry, SC; three great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and a brother, Samuel Russell, Jr.
A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 11:30 am, at Springwood Cemetery, Greenville, SC conducted by Reverend Dr. James R. Thomason.
The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to: Anderson First Baptist Church, 307 S. Manning St., Anderson, SC 29624; or Meal on Wheels, 105 South Fant St., Anderson, SC 29624.

We were so sorry to read of Pug's death this morning. How blessed she was to have enjoyed bridge until her death. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm sorry we will not be able
to express our sympathy in person -
Dolly would be upset knowing no Harrison was present.
