Max Eldon Dale
FINDLAY, OHIO - Max Eldon Dale passed from this life March 3, 2013, at his home in Findlay, Ohio.
He was born on Sept. 3, 1935, to the late Wilbur and Dorothy Jackson Dale of Lyons, Kansas.
He married Virginia (Bartlett) Dale on June 3, 1956, in Hutchinson, Kansas. She survives. Also surviving, a son, Russell (Teena) Dale, Rochester Hills, MI; a daughter, Annette (Craig) Rentenberg, Powell,Ohio; grandchildren Mitchell and Miles Dale, Rochester Hills, MI; Cara Todd, Powell, Ohio; Kyle Todd, Vacaville, CA; step grandchildren Lauren (Nick) Coventry, Marysville, Ohio; and Matt Rentenberg, Columbus, Ohio; one step great grandchild Corbin Coventry, Marysville, Ohio.
Max graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.A. degree in Business, Industrial Engineering and Industrial Relations, and was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He began his corporate experience after completing 8 years in the National Guard, joining in Kansas, and transferring to California. He worked for Fibreboard Corporation in Newark, California, as plant manufacturing manager, moving to plant engineer at Ukiah Hardboard Plant in Ukiah, California. He then joined Masonite Corporation as Roofing Division Vice-President and General Manager, then became Group Vice-President of Diversified Products Group overseeing five manufacturing plants with headquarters in Meridian, Mississippi.
In Meridian, he was president of the Meridian Industrial Foundation, on the boards of the Meridian Chamber of Commerce, Meridian Regional Hospital, Northwood Country Club and the Downtown Club, and a life-long member of Rotary. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service to youth by the Choctaw Area Council of Boy Scouts in January 1982.
Upon retiring later that year, he and his wife moved to Anderson, South Carolina, where they owned and operated Cedric's Fish and Chips for two years, and Vernon Todd Memorials and Elberton Monumental Company from mid 1982 to 1999. They moved to Findlay, Ohio, in 2008 to be nearer their children.
Max loved the Lord, was active in church throughout his life, and was a member of Findlay Evangelical Free Church at the time of his death.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to ll:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Findlay Evangelical Free Church with the funeral following, Pastors Blair Hayward and Dave Cass officiating. Lehtomaa Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Park, Findlay.
