PAUL J. TENCH
January 8, 1931 - February 24, 2013
ANDERSON - Paul J. Tench, age 82, of 1208 Gentry Drive, entered his Heavenly Home on Sunday, February 24, 2013, upon his death at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Demorest, GA, he was the son of the late I.D. Tench and the late Pauline Gunn Tench. For 63 years he was the loving and devoted husband of Kathryn Mize Tench of the residence. Mr. Tench was a sales manager and an agent with the Life of Georgia Insurance Company. As a hobby, Mr. Tench found much enjoyment in repairing clocks around the Anderson area. He was dedicated to his church, Eureka Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.
In addition to his wife, Kathryn, he is survived by 2 sons, Gary P. Tench (Pamelia) of Belton, and Stanley K. Tench (Susan) of Anderson; 2 daughters, Kathy Charleville (Vann) of Seneca, and Nancy Cleveland (Dean) of Anderson; 8 grandchildren, Jason Tench, Paul Tench (Erica), Barron Tench (Chesley), Bradan Tench (MiKayla), Brad Kennedy (Christina), Bethany Wiley (Sam), Kyle Cleveland (Nikki) and Kristin Cleveland; also surviving are 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was also predeceased by grandchildren, Blake Tench, and Brooke Kennedy; and great-grandchild Matthew Tench.
The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Mr. Paul J. Tench will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at 2 PM, at the Eureka Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Ron Fousek and Rev. Jerry Mize officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
