Sarah McCurley Obituary

SARAH RHODY McCURLEY STARR - Sarah Rhody McCurley, 89, of Starr, widow of High D. McCurley, died Thursday, March 13, 2008 at NHC of Anderson. Born September 28, 1918 in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Ella Dean Rhody. She was a graduate of Girl's High School and was a retired executive secretary with Orr-Lyons Mill. She was a member of the South Carolina Walking Horse Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a sister, Margaret Coleman of Liberty; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Dean, Francis, and Clarence Rhody. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, conducted by Dr. David J. Bailey. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the South Carolina Walking Horse Ladies Auxiliary, c/o Sadie McLeod, 5184 Bush River Rd., Newberry, SC 29108. SULLIVAN-KING MORTUARY, NORTHEAST CHAPEL
