I just heard of Sybil's passing. What a wonderful lady she was. She had such an amazing voice, and it will ring in my memory forever. I loved listening to her sing. I was in at least three shows with Sybil at both Oconee Community Theater and at the Pendleton Playhouse. She was someone I could admire and look up to, and she was a mentor to me as a young singer and performer. Sybil, you will be missed. -Stephanie Hood, friend

Sybil was there for me when I first started my job at Clemson in 2008. She made everything that initially seemed overwhelming suddenly seem just like doable steps. And she had a great warmth about her and a wonderful wry sense of humor. I always looked forward to seeing her at work. I think everyone else did too and the students kind of thought of her as a mother who would help them take care of everything.
