Robert Pease Obituary

EUGENE, OR- Robert Coard Pease, 95, passed away on September 24, 2025. Known as Bob, he was born June 14, 1930 in Plainfield, New Jersey to Walter Franklin Pease and Sarah B. Johnson and was the brother of Walter Franklin Pease, Jr (now deceased) of New Canaan, Conn.

After attending Wardlaw Country Day School and Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire, he joined the U.S. Air Force before continuing his education.

Bob married Elizabeth Louise (Bette Lou) Jarvis of Pluckemin, New Jersey in 1951, and after completing his military service, he graduated with an engineering degree from Rutgers University. His career allowed him to work with various companies in the development and manufacture of computer-assisted instrumentation.

His interests included music and playing the guitar, collecting classic cars, and sports car rallies.

He also enjoyed hiking and camping throughout the White Mountains with his family, hunting in the fall, and skiing in the winter. In 1976, Bob and Bette Lou moved to North Kingstown, Rhode Island with their youngest son Jonathan, where Bob indulged his lifelong passion for sailing. He was a dedicated member of the Wickford Yacht Club, a member of the USCG auxil-

iary and received his 100 Ton Masters Certificate. An active member of the community, he volunteered at Smith's Castle, and participated in the Castles revolutionary re-enactments.

Bob and Bette Lou resided in Rhode Island for nearly forty years before moving to Eugene, Oregon. Bob was preceded in death by Bette Lou, who passed away in November 2018. He is survived by his four children: Aileen Pease Garrigues of North Kingstown, Robert Coard Pease Jr. of Miami, Florida, Kathleen Buchter Krocker of Springfield, Oregon, and Jonathan Matthew Pease of Carolina Beach, North Carolina. He also leaves six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family has chosen to hold a private celebration of his life in the spring.
