Suzanne Fitzpatrick Obituary

WAKEFIELD, RI- Shortly after her 88th birthday, Sue Fitzpatrick passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025 at her home in Brightview Commons, Wakefield, Rhode Island.

She was born February 5, 1937 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was a 1957 graduate of Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing. She spent her life and livelihood caring for others. Sue began her career working, primarily as a psychiatric nurse, at the Veteran's Administration in Pittsburgh and, many years later, retired from Naval Hospital San Diego, California. Following retirement, she returned to western Pennsylvania and settled in Natrona Heights. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic church and sang in their choir. She loved visiting with family and friends, reading and singing.

Following a medical emergency in 2024, she moved to Rhode Island to be near her son and his family. Sue is survived by her children: Michael (Janine) Fitzpatrick of Narragansett, RI; John (Angela) Fitzpatrick of Williamsburg, VA; and Jeannine (Scott) Gibble of Fort Wayne, IN. Sue has 7

grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her youngest sister, Janice (Birch) DeVault of Hendersonville, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents John Patrick Killeen and Janice Theresa (Kerlin) Killeen, her sisters Mary Ann Schwab and Katherine Ann Lenz and brother John Patrick Killeen, Jr. Also, preceding her in death was her mothers second husband Victor Davis.

A private service will be conducted at NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL in Narragansett, RI.

Memorial service and interment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA.
