November 20, 1938 - January 7, 2025
Bobby Gene Clanton, Sr of Concord, NC, went home to the Lord on January 7, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Gene was born in Taylorsville, North Carolina, to loving parents John and Pauline (Hemric) Clanton. A graduate of Northwest High School in Winston-Salem, he married Rachel Turner in 1960.
Gene was a devoted husband, father, and Grandpa. He enjoyed golf, card,s and Atlanta Braves baseball.
Gene is survived by his children, Bobby Gene Clanton, Jr. (Jeanne), Michael Gray Clanton; grandchildren, Chase Clanton (Paige), Cydney Clanton, Cody Clanton (Samantha), Caleb Clanton (Diana); great-grandchildren, Riley Clanton, Kyleigh Clanton, Emma Clanton, Carter Clanton, Colt Clanton, Cayce Clanton, Cash Clanton, Jade Clanton; his siblings, Glenda Cooksey, and Johnnie Howard. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rachel Turner Clanton; his parents; sister, Kaye Templeto; and brother, Richard Lee Clanton, Sr.
The family is grateful to those who loved and helped care for Mr. Gene in the final months and wishes to especially thank The Landings of Cabarrus and VIA Health Partners.
