Eddie Lynn Fowler

Eddie Lynn Fowler, 75, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Atrium Health Cabarrus, due to complications of dementia.

Eddie was born Nov. 17, 1946, in Cabarrus County, a son of the late J.D. Fowler and Eula Helms Fowler.

Eddie graduated from Concord High School's Class of 1965. He attended Louisville Electronics in Kentucky. After graduation, he worked for Westinghouse in Maryland. From there, Eddie was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served in the First Calvary Unit in Vietnam, earning the Cross of Gallantry and the Bronze Service Star, among other honorable awards. After discharge, he worked for IBM Corporation in Charlotte, then the Cabarrus Board of Elections, and finally Accurate Technologies in Concord. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Concord.

Eddie is survived his wife of 49 years, Frances C. Fowler; their two sons, Justin D. Fowler III of Charlotte and David L. Fowler (Sharon) of Concord; grandchildren, Kate R. Fowler and Matthew L. Fowler, both of Concord; brother, Don Fowler (Jo Ann) of Concord; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to honor Eddie's life will be held in the chapel at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord Saturday, June 4, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., at the funeral home, prior to the service. Following the service, the interment will take place at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Central United Methodist Church, 30 Union St. N, Concord, NC 28025.
