John Lloyd Rary

John Lloyd Rary, 64, of Concord, passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at Atrium Cabarrus in Concord.
John was born May 27, 1957, to the late Frank and Phyllis Rary. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clara Lambert, Everette and Frankie Lambert; paternal grandparents, Vernell and Pearl Rary; granddaughter Erika Walsh; and grandson T.J. Carpenter.
John attended Northwest Cabarrus High School and he later became a self-employed auto mechanic in which he thoroughly enjoyed. During John's spare time, he thoroughly enjoyed racing late model stock cars in the NASCAR Series at Concord Motor Speedway with his sons. After his racing days, he loved to take his grandson Tyler to the racetrack for some Saturday night fun; watch his granddaughter Cloe' cheer; to hear his granddaughter Emma sing his favorite song "Crazy Train"; and to hear his grandson T.J. pray at family gatherings. John and Rita would sit and watch the game show network for hours a day. John so loved spending time with his sister, Jan and his other family and friends. John was a loving husband, son, and brother. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.
John is survived by his loving spouse of 40 years, Rita Hall Rary of Concord; and his fur baby, Penny Ann; sons, Josh Walsh and wife, Keisha of Concord, and John Rary Jr. of Kannapolis; sister, Janice Rary Swaringen of Concord; grandchildren, Tyler and Cloe' Walsh and Emma Rary; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:15 p.m., Monday, Oct. 25, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The funeral service in celebration of John's life will follow at 6:30 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, officiated by the Rev. Donnie Tomlin. John will be laid to rest during a private committal service at Carolina Memorial Park in Concord.
