Mary Frye KANNAPOLIS Mary Alice Clontz Frye, 84, of Kannapolis, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at CMC-NorthEast. She was born Feb. 29, 1928, in Charlotte, daughter of the late A.B. and Emma Cole Clontz. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Clontz; and two sisters, Sarah Elizabeth Clontz and Aileen Rains. She was a graduate of Winecoff High School. She was formerly employed by Central Motor Lines and Bitsy Bakery. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Dale Freeze Sunday school class and the Julia Bost Circle. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in China Grove, officiated by the Rev. Joseph Tallent. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at church prior to services. She is survived by her husband, Martin Luther Frye, whom she married Aug. 14, 1946; five children, Michael W. and Judy Sloop Frye, Gary Allen and Deborah Kennedy Frye, David Martin and Susan Funk Frye, Karen Elizabeth and Michael Overcash, Joe Bryan and Carolyn Ann Frye; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grand-children, two great-great-grandchildren; and a niece, Phyllis Frye.
