Vickie Welch "Meme" Taylor

KANNAPOLIS - Vickie Welch "Meme" Taylor, 55, of Kannapolis passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at her home. She was born March 23, 1955, in Robeson County, the daughter of Frances Welch Taylor of Kannapolis and the late Luther V. Taylor. She was a nurse employed with American Red Cross in Charlotte. She was a member of Brookdale Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved spending time at the beach fishing, enjoyed reading and watching football. In addition to her mother, she is survived by three children, Nycole Castor of Concord, Katee Bost of Harrisburg, and Cameron Castor of Concord; three grandchildren, Megan Castor, Landon Castor and Maelynn Hagler; a sister, Lisa Axsom; three brothers, Mike Taylor, Rodney Taylor and David Taylor; and numerous amounts of nieces and nephews she adored. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at Brookdale Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Rodney Taylor. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Brookdale Baptist Church, 2511 S. Ridge Ave. Kannapolis, NC 28083.
