Wade Reid

CONCORD - Mr. Wade Reid, 66, of 2161 Dartwood Drive, Concord, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church in Kannapolis. The Rev. Marler Starnes will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Lady's Funeral Home in Kannapolis. At other times, they will be at the residence. Born May 3, 1941, in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late George W. Reid and Maggie Benfield Reid. He was retired from Acme Petroleum in Gastonia. Survivors include his wife, Mary Sellers Reid; two sons, Mark Reid and wife, Sherry, and Brian Reid and wife, Taylor, both of Harrisburg; two sisters, Mabel Pittman and husband, Ron, of Charlotte and Faye Hollifield of Spruce Pine; three brothers, Bruce Reid and wife, Kim, of Dallas, Ray Reid and wife, Barbara, and Jerry Reid and wife, Arthelia, both of Bakersville; and four grandchildren, Justin Reid, Matthew Reid, Parker Reid and McKenzie Sheppard.
