Richard Malgieri Obituary

Richard Arnold Malgieri Sr of Dixon, CA passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 82. Richard (Rich) was born July 7, 1942 to Grace and Aurelio Malgieri in Jersey City, NJ. Rich was the youngest of five siblings and grew up in Emerson, NJ. After graduating high school, he served in the Navy from 1960 to 1964 as an electrician aboard Submarine, U.S.S. Hardhead SS65 in New London, Connecticut.

After his service, Rich went on to a career in bartending from New Jersey to California. Over the 48 years of bartending, he became a people person and notorious for his honest, gruff, joker personality. Many lifelong friendships came from his years being behind the bar.

He married Susan (Montesinos) and had two children, Cassandra and Richie Jr. He was preceded in death by his wife Susan, brothers Harry, Thomas and sisters Grace and Joyce. He is survived by his children as well as many close family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 30 at 4853 Store Rd in Vacaville starting at 1pm. Be prepared to share any stories you may have, and in true Rich form, nothing is off limits.

I will miss hearing that unforgettable voice and your ornery sense of humor. I am grateful that I was able to know the sweet person you were under that Grumpy exterior. I love you and will miss you so very much.
