Edgar Baker Obituary

Edgar B. Baker, 65, of Friendsville, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, May 14, 2016.

He was born on February 1, 1951 in Binghamton, N.Y., to the late Morris H. and Lillian (Fancher) Baker.

Edgar is survived by his wife of 33 years, Louise M. (Murphy) Baker; his son, Brian M. Baker; granddaughters, Brianna and Gabrielle Baker; sister-in-law, Margaret Baker; siblings, Morris C. Baker and Kathy Warriner; nieces and nephews.

Edgar was predeceased by his brother, David L. Baker.

Edgar graduated from Montrose High School in 1969. He attended Keystone Junior College and earned an Associates degree in 1971. He attended the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. Upon returning to Montrose, he worked for County National Bank until he retired.

Upon his retirement he thoroughly enjoyed golfing at the Montrose Country Club and later at Tall Pines Players Club He was an avid turkey hunter especially enjoying the spring gobbler season.

Deer hunting was another great enjoyment sometimes with his Alberta, Canada adopted family and always at "Camp." He always looked forward to the preparation and planting of food plots at Camp.

Ed loved his family. Seldom a weekend passed when he was not with his son and wife. Spending time with his granddaughters was always important to him.

Edgar was a member and past President of the Lions Club; member of Warren Lodge #240 Free and Excepted Masons of Pa; member of Warren Royal Arch, Chapter #180; and a member of Nazarene Commandery #99 Knight Templer of Pa.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Edgar's memory can be made to the Forest Lake Volunteer Fire Co., PO Box 346, Montrose, PA 18801; or Endless Mountains Health Systems, 100 Hospital Drive, Montrose, PA 18801.

A private memorial service will be held at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, Montrose. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Tall Pines Players Club.
