Genevieve Samson Obituary

Genevieve Sylvia Samson, 88, stepped into glory 9 p.m., October 19, 2021.
Lovingly known as Jean, Mom, Grammy, Great Grammy, Sis, Aunt Jeanie, and Aunt Genevieve, was born on October 16, 1933 to Sylvester Rome, and Anna Mary Tremacco Rome.
Jean married Robert S Samson, December 23, 1950. The couple was blessed with a daughter Deborah Jean, and Michael Robert. First and foremost to her, was being a loving wife, and mother. She was manager at Arrowhead Christian Bookstore, in Binghamton, NY. She was secretary to the Hallstead Christian Academy, and a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Hallstead, serving as church clerk, janitor, Primary Dept Sunday School teacher, Junior training hour teacher, youth group leader, involved with the Ladies missionary group.
She was a seamstress, making our clothes, and making and mending for others.
Jean loved her five very tall grandsons: Matthew Robert (Laura) Samson, Benjamin Michael (Monica) Samson, Kurtis Richard (Laura Elizabeth) Samson, Michael Joseph (Kirstin) Hamblin, Paul Brian (Jaime) Hamblin. She also loved her eight great grandchildren: Anna Mae, Elizabeth (Lizzy) Sue Samson. Nolan James Samson, Hannah Elizabeth, Rachel Olivia, Rebekah Gabriella, and Josiah Benjamin Hamblin, and anxiously anticipating baby girl Hamblin due in December.
The family appreciates the loving compassionate care at Hornell Gardens in Hornell, NY.
Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Hallstead, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021. Calling hours from 12 noon until the service begins at 1 p.m. Interment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery.
