Joseph Stone Obituary
Born on the family farm in Ararat Twp., son of the late Leroy and Florence LaPlace Stone, he attended the Thompson School.
Prior to retirement, he was employed as a highway maintenance worker for PennDot. Joe also worked for many years on the family farm in Ararat.
He is survived by his wife Ella Mae, two daughters: Nancy Jo Mitchell, Peckville; Marion Wiesenmiller and husband David, Binghamton; five grandchildren: Patty Jo Livsey and husband Steve, Billy Mitchell, Eric Hilkert, Jeff Hilkert, Rebecca Dubin; four great grandchildren: Liam Livsey, and Aislyn, Fynlee, and Michael Hilkert; a sister: Elfrieda Lee, Susquehanna; a brother: David Stone, Binghamton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter: Patricia Dubin; a sister: Jeanette Wheeler; and six brothers: Louie, Albert, Raymond, Benny, Leroy "Buddy", and Fred Stone.
As per his request, private funeral services will be held with interment in Ararat Cemetery. Friends and family were invited to a celebration of Joe's life, held on Saturday, May 6 at the Thompson Fire Hall, Water Street, Thompson.
Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Thompson Hose Co., PO Box 419, Thompson, PA 18465.

I only knew Joe for a short time since moving into the South High Rise. He was a fine man liked by all. When he was not around he was missed by everyone.He knew everyone and had a gracious greeting for all.
