Richard Kenneth Payne, Sr.

Richard Payne, Sr. Obituary
Born January 23, 1952, in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Gordon E. Payne and Eula Mae Still Payne. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and retired from Monsanto after more than 30 years of dedicated service.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, Jamie Payne and Kenny Payne, both of Greenwood; a stepson, Keller McGovern (Rachel) of Hodges; a stepdaughter, Britney McGovern (Koby Moore) of Greenwood; a brother, Charles Preston Payne, Sr., of Greenwood; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, George L. Bryan, and a sister, Mary Helen Able.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Blyth Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
