Toula Allen Obituary

Stamatoula "Toula" Chatos Allen "Nanny", 61, of Greenwood, wife of Vernon Allen, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born on August 10, 1964 in Greenwood, she was a daughter of Violet Cox Chatos and the late Angelo Tom Chatos. Toula lived a life defined by love, generosity, and tireless work for her family and community. She earned an associate's degree in respiratory therapy and served as a compassionate respiratory therapist for 14 years at Self Regional Medical Center, helping countless patients through the years.

In addition to her career in healthcare, Toula was a dedicated entrepreneur. For 42 years, she and her husband owned and operated Emerald Lawn Care & Landscaping, and she also shared her keen eye for style as the owner of Ala's Boutique with her daughter, Angela.

Toula was known by all who met her as a very giving and loving person. Her family was truly her everything. She shared a beautiful life and marriage of 42 years with her devoted husband, Vernon. Her greatest joy and the absolute center of her world were her beloved grandchildren.

As a member of North Side Baptist Church, Toula found comfort and strength in her faith, often extending her warmth and generous spirit to those around her. Her giving nature touched countless lives, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, Vernon, and mother, Violet, she is survived by her children, Angela Davis (Tyler), Adrian Clark (Matthew), and Amber Allen Christian; sisters, Pam Thomas, Sia Pickell (David), and Diane Harrison (Grant); brother, Steve Hamby (Sheree); grandchildren, Michael Davis, Abella Kate Clark, Evan Davis, Ava Clark, Stelling Christian, and Ryker Christian (her "Cooter"); and numerous special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Angelo; sister, Susanna Chatos; brother-in-law, Brent Thomas; and nephew, Trevor Giles.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at North Side Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Lethco officiating. Burial will be private.

There will be no public visitation held.

The family would like to give a special thank you to her angel, Nurse Kimbrell, Dr. Yuan, and Dr. Oza for all of their love and care.

The family is grateful for the outpouring of love, thoughts, and prayers during this difficult time. They kindly ask for their privacy as they mourn the loss of their cherished Toula.

As we remember Toula, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness and love, cherishing the memories and the many lives she touched throughout her journey.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to North Side Baptist Church, 409 Northside Drive W, Greenwood, SC 29649 (www.northsidebc.org).

So hard to believe that Toula has passed! I remember her as a small child when Steve, Diane, Pam and I were friends... way back in time. I'm so sorry for your loss and wish you peace in knowing she's in a better place.
