Wayne Kirby Obituary
He was born January 8, 1965 in Greenwood, SC, to Nancy Davis Kirby and the late Wayne Morris Kirby.
Waynie graduated from Ware Shoals High School in 1984 and was a member of the 1982 state championship football team. He was an AVID Gamecock fan, a collector of WW II books, models, and toys. Waynie was a friend to everyone and had a love for all animals.
Waynie is survived by his wife, Mary Pridgen Kirby, his mother, Nancy Davis Kirby, sister Sharon Davis, nieces Kirby Price (Buck), Sarah Dorn (Colby), great-niece, Zanna Dorn, great-nephew, Oakley Price, step-daughters Brenda Duncan (John), Sarah Chapman (Clay) grandson Luke Chapman and neighbor, Addie Patton, whom he referred to as his granddaughter. Last, but not least, he is survived by his most precious cat, Cassie.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, March 7 at 4 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Ware Shoals. The family will receive friends at the church from 3-3:45 p.m. prior to the service.
Please consider wearing Gamecock or Ware Shoals High School colors.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humane Society of Greenwood.
