Alfred P. Bowles

76, died March 8, 2015. A longtime resident of Carmel, Al grew up in Dyer, Indiana, the son of Edward H. and Ide (Lindstrom) Bowles. After graduating from Purdue University, he was a pilot in the U.S. Army, continuing his military service in the Indiana National Guard. Al worked for RCA and Esterline-Angus Corporation in Indianapolis.

He enjoyed woodworking and wood carving, birding, riding his bicycle, listening to opera and traveling with family and friends.

Al was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edward H. Bowles, Jr. Survivors include his children, Becky, Fred and Rachael Bowles, two nieces, a nephew and two grand nephews.

The family offers its sincere thanks to the staff of Community Heart and Vascular Hospital and to everyone at the Center for Advanced Heart Care for their support and excellent treatment of Al's health issues.

Friends and family gathered March 14th for a private celebration of life. Services entrusted to Crown Hill Funeral Home.
