Betty Louise Sheldon DeBoor
Born April 8, 1927 in Indianapolis to the late Ernest and Ada Hann. She was a lifelong eastside Indianapolis resident. She was preceded in death by husband, Frank DeBoor.
Betty attended Howe High School. She married in 1945 and over the next 18 years, had seven children. She had a great talent for developing family traditions and bonds that to this day, all seven offspring are close and connected as a result of her loving foundation. Betty was extremely proud of her family. She was the centerpiece and beloved Matriarch to all seven surviving children's families: Sharon (George) Walther; Judy (RJ) Smith; Diana (Mike) Poore; Mark (Gina Elliott) Sheldon; Denise (Mark) Dank; Debbie (Richard) Kraft and Beth Sheldon. Betty was blessed with seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Betty was a natural caregiver. She not only raised her children nearly single-handedly, she cared for her parents in their declining years and then for her husband Frank through a lengthy illness. She was quick to help others in need and she volunteered as Pink Lady at Community Hospital for several years. As winter approaches, she will continue to take care of us as we use the numerous blankets she crocheted over the years. She will be greatly missed.
