Bruce Douglas Obituary

Bruce Gardiner Douglas 69, of Carmel, died Monday, March 7, 2005. He was born May 31, 1935 in New York City, to the late Arnold J. and Elsie M. Gardiner Douglas. Bruce was a naval submarine veteran of the Korean War. He was a 1962 Cum Laude graduate of Michigan State University and a member of Alpha Sigma Phi. Prior to his retirement in 1985, he worked for Exxon Research & Engineering for 24 years. Bruce was a Professional Engineer, registered in both New Jersey and Indiana, a Life Senior Member of IEEE and a Life Member of ISA. Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2005 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 10 West 61st Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, where he was a member. A reception will follow in the church parlor. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janice E. Mann Douglas; his daughter, Pamela M. Douglas; stepmother, F. Jean Wise Douglas; brother, Paul W. (Marian) Douglas; sisters, Wendy J. (Robert) Brockett and Patricia R. (Roberto) deMagalhaes; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Organ Fund. www.flannerbuchanan.com
