Carter Cole Obituary

Carter W. Cole, 73, Greenwood, died Friday, May 2, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital Beech Grove. He was born July 26, 1929 in Shelbyville. His parents were George W. and Hazel Mae Carter Cole. He married Alice M. Wall Cole on Aug. 6, 1949, she survives. Survivors include sons Michael W. Cole of New Castle and Charles S. Cole of Franklin; daughters Pamela Sue Katschke of Roselawn, Karen Elaine Wainscott of Fountain Town, Jeanine Ann Kinser of Indianapolis and Kimberly Kay Fitch of Greenwood; brother James K. Cole of Morristown; sisters Betty L. Eastridge of Freedom and Carolyn Hilton of Danville; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Cole graduated from Morristown High School. He was employed 10 years by Grain Elevator. He was also a farmer 29 years, retiring in 1986. Afterwards he worked five years with Budget Car Rental. Mr. Cole was a member of Shiloh Christian Church, Blue River Motorcycle Club and the Eagle Lodge in Rushville. He like to race cars, ride his tractor and going camping. Pastor Tom Morris will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Mon. at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre St. Rd.. 135 Chapel, Greenwood. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sun. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
