David Michael Link
49, of Indianapolis, is now at peace in the hands of the Lord. Born March 11, 1965, Dave passed away April 22, 2014 at home surrounded by his wife, children and loving family after a three year battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme brain cancer.
Born in Richmond, Indiana to parents Michael and Nancy, Dave lived most of his life in Indianapolis. Dave graduated in 1983 from Lawrence North High School where he was a member of the tennis team. He went on to graduate from Indiana University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Dave was a member of Beta Theta Pi where he served as treasurer.
After graduation, Dave worked at Nichols and Associates, Melvin Simon & Associates, Bremner & Wiley Inc., and most recently, Ceramica Inc. In addition, Dave successfully owned and managed Link Property Group for the past 20 years.
Dave was known for his easy-going ways and ongoing exploration of life's opportunities. He was an active member of Toastmasters for twelve years, holding several offices. He also was a long-time coach and past president for Allisonville Youth Baseball/Softball League (AYBS). He was an enthusiastic, inspirational, devoted and uplifting teacher per his children, having all been coached by their dad. Additionally, Dave's passion for baseball extended beyond coaching - he played in various leagues for more than 30 years, with his latest team being the Brewers.
All who knew Dave admired his positive attitude, excellent listening skills, ability to put people at ease, and his unique gift of making friends and family feel special. Dave was an inspiration to all who knew him, and throughout his life epitomized faith, strength, courage and love. He enjoyed nature, hiking, golf, reading, meditation and any activities in life which brought him closer to God. His faith was paramount to him as it guided him in placing an emphasis on what was important in life. He was a member of Grace Church and attended St. Pius X.
While attending IU, Dave met Elizabeth Light and they married on October 5, 1991, and raised four beautiful children. Dave was a loving husband and father who considered his family his greatest pride and joy.

I was just thinking of David tonight and found this. As a young child living on the same street in Richmond, he was my best friend. I think of him from time to time still.

God created us out of love and to spend eternity with Him in Heaven. Our goal here on this earth is to help others get to heaven-you accomplished this goal Dave with your faith, love and endurance. Thank you for helping us along the way-you just "beat us there!"
